The availability, scope and price of a service may depend on the equipment, fault, parts required, location and technical work involved.

3. Quotations

Where applicable, NovaIT may provide a quotation before work begins. A quotation is based on the information available at the time of inspection or enquiry.

If additional faults, parts or work become apparent during a repair or installation, NovaIT may provide an amended quotation or request approval before proceeding with additional chargeable work.

4. Diagnostic Work

Some faults cannot be accurately identified without technical inspection, testing or diagnostic work.

A diagnostic or assessment fee may apply where communicated to the customer beforehand.

5. Repairs and Replacement Parts

NovaIT will take reasonable care when working on customer equipment. Replacement parts may be new, refurbished or equivalent depending on availability and what has been agreed with the customer.

A repair cannot guarantee that unrelated components will not fail at a later stage.

6. Customer Data and Backups

Customers remain responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important data before equipment is submitted for repair, upgrade or software work.

Although reasonable care will be taken, technology work may involve risks to stored data, particularly where storage devices are already damaged, corrupted or failing.

NovaIT will not intentionally access customer files except where reasonably required to diagnose, repair, configure or test the relevant equipment or service.

7. Passwords and Access Credentials

Where passwords, PINs or other access credentials are required for technical work, customers should provide only those credentials reasonably necessary for the work.

Customers are encouraged to change temporary or shared passwords after the service has been completed.

8. Collection of Equipment

Customers should collect repaired or assessed equipment within a reasonable period after being informed that it is ready.

If equipment remains uncollected for an extended period, NovaIT may contact the customer using the contact information supplied.

Any further treatment of abandoned or uncollected goods will be subject to applicable South African law.

9. Payment

Payment terms will be communicated on the quotation, invoice or other service documentation.

NovaIT may require deposits for parts, specialised equipment, installations or larger projects.

Unless otherwise agreed, amounts owing become payable in accordance with the invoice or quotation provided.

10. Cancellations

Customers should notify NovaIT as soon as possible if they wish to cancel a booking or approved service.

Where NovaIT has already ordered custom or non-returnable parts, incurred third-party costs or completed chargeable work, those reasonable costs may remain payable, subject to applicable consumer law.

11. Third-Party Products and Services

NovaIT may install, configure or support products and services supplied by third parties.

Third-party products, cloud services, software, telecommunications providers and platforms may be subject to their own terms, warranties and availability.

12. Website Use

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You may not attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the website, introduce malicious software, gain unauthorised access, scrape protected content or misuse website functionality.

13. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the design, text, graphics, branding and original content appearing on this website belong to NovaIT or are used under appropriate licence.

Content may not be copied, reproduced or commercially distributed without permission, except where allowed by law.

14. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.

To the extent permitted by law, NovaIT will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from website downtime, third-party services, pre-existing equipment faults, corrupted storage devices or events outside NovaIT’s reasonable control.

15. Consumer Rights

These Terms must be read subject to applicable South African consumer protection legislation. Nothing in these Terms is intended to unlawfully waive, restrict or remove a consumer’s statutory rights.

16. Changes to These Terms

NovaIT may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on this website together with its effective or updated date.
